3 Mandatory Features for a Safety Device
- Dress it up
It needs to be wearable. Period. It’s not the 80’s anymore to try and carry a pepper spray or something inside an overloaded purse. In fact, even if you try to find your phone or a different device in your purse under the effects of adrenaline, you probably won’t be able to find it.
No, you won’t go out for a walk taking a big red button that says “step back, this is an emergency situation”. Of course it will never work. A safety device needs to be discreet. Hopefully it will not even look like a device. It needs to be so seamless that only you know where it is. This can save your life under a threatful situation.
- Fast and viral
When in trouble, you wish you had a megaphone so everyone could hear you. It would be awesome if we could ask for help to as many people as possible, as fast as possible, wouldn’t it? Some devices work only as a loud alarm, but we know this is not enough. Cities are full of noise, traffic, construction, concerts, a Friday night party at college… A good safety device needs to be able to make people aware that you need help.
